Quóniam tu, Dómine, suávis et mitis * et multæ misericórdiæ ómnibus invocántibus te

Quóniam tu, Dómine, suávis et mitis *
et multæ misericórdiæ ómnibus invocántibus te.
For you, Lord, are pleasant and meek *
and there are many mercies for all the men calling you.

suavis = agreeable, pleasant, charming.

mitis = meek, from mitis,is. Jesus said, “Tollite jugum meum super vos, et discite a me, quia mitis sum, et humilis corde : et invenietis requiem animabus vestris.” / “Take my yoke upon yourselves and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
