Custódi ánimam meam, quóniam sanctus sum; * salvum fac servum tuum, Deus meus, sperántem in te. Guard my soul, for I am holy * make your servant safe, my God, hoping in you.

Custódi = guard (in the imperative).

ánimam meam = my soul.

quóniam sanctus sum = for I am holy.

salvum = safe. Could be “well, unharmed, sound, safe, alive, saved”. Connotes both safety and salvation.

servum tuum = your servant, and agrees with salvum. Make your servant safe. Fac servum tuum salvum.

Deus meus = my God.

sperántem in te = hoping in you. From spero,are, to hope. sperantem is a participle. With what does it agree? servum. Make your servant (hoping in you) SAFE. Fac servum tuum (sperantem in te) SALVUM.
