suscípiam eum, quóniam cognóvit nomen meum. | I will support him, for he has known my name. |
suscipiam eum = I will support him. I will support her would be suscipiam eam. Them would be suscipiam eos or eas.
cognovit nomen meum = he has known my name. Could be he/she/it has known my name. We choose ‘he’ taking eum as the antecedent. Jesus said in John 5:42, “Sed cognovi vos, quia dilectionem Dei non habetis in vobis.” / “But I have known you, that you do not have the love of God in you.”
